Olivier Bégin-Caouette Ph.D. est professeur agrégé en enseignement supérieur comparé au Département d’administration et fondements de l’éducation, à l’Université de Montréal. Ses recherches portent sur les interactions entre systèmes d’enseignement supérieur et leurs contextes politiques, économiques, sociaux et culturels, de même que sur la production de recherche universitaire et les transformations des établissements d’enseignement technique et professionnels.

Il est l'un des trois co-fondateurs du Laboratoire interdisciplinaire de recherche sur l'enseignement supérieur (LIRES). Il est membre associé du Centre interuniversitaire de recherche sur la science et la technologie (CIRST) et responsable pour les universités francophones dans le cadre du projet sur la Profession universitaire dans la société du savoir (APIKS). Olivier Bégin-Caouette a agi à titre de consultant pour l’Université de l’Ontario français (UOF), notamment dans les dossiers relatifs à la pédagogie universitaire et à la stratégie internationale, aux programmes de formation.

Olivier Bégin-Caouette, ancien boursier Vanier et Weston, détient un doctorat en enseignement supérieur (éducation comparée, internationale et pour le développement) de l’Institut d’études pédagogiques de l’Ontario (OISE), à l’Université de Toronto. Sa thèse de doctorat portait sur les facteurs systémiques contribuant à la production de recherche universitaire dans les pays scandinaves. Il a également complété un stage postdoctoral (CRSH) au CIRST, basé à l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). Il a alors développé un questionnaire afin d’identifier les facteurs systémiques contribuant à la production de recherche universitaire au Canada. Il a finalement travaillé pour le Bureau international de l’UNESCO, l’Assemblée nationale du Québec, la Fédération des cégeps et le Cégep de l’Outaouais.

Olivier Bégin-Caouette Ph.D. is an associate professor in comparative higher education at the Département d’administration et fondements de l’éducation, Université de Montréal. His research focus on the interactions between higher education systems and their political, economic, social and cultural contexts, as well as on the production of academic research, the academic profession and the transformations of technical and vocational education institutions.

He is one of the three co-founders of the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Research on Higher Education (LIRES). He is an associate member of the Interuniversity research center on science and technology (CIRST) and is responsible for French-speaking universities in the international project on the Academic profession in the knowledge society (APIKS). He has also been consultant for the Université de l’Ontario français (UOF) and worked on the university pedagogy, and the international strategy, academic programs.

Olivier Bégin-Caouette, former Vanier scholar and Weston fellow, holds a PhD in higher education (comparative, international and development education) from the Ontario Institute for the Studies of Education (OISE), at the University of Toronto. His thesis was on the systemic factors contributing to academic research production in the Nordic countries. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the CIRST, based at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). He then developed a questionnaire to identify systemic factors contributing to academic research production in Canada. He finally worked for the UNESCO International Bureau of Education, the Quebec National Assembly, the Quebec Federation of CEGEPs and the CEGEP de l’Outaouais.
